The Kansas Professional Communicators selected the two columns:
"Lift the notes off the page!" and Footnote to History
for its Honorable Mention award.
Judges' comments included:
'Notes' was a nice piece to praise the joy of music, which you did.
'Footnote' had some remarkable photos. Great column idea, too, preserving and explaining a past that will be lost
unless we chronicle it. I wanted more Uncle Stan and less general history."
