This page is a brief introducion into the background of Gloria's second breast cancer journey.
In 2022, Gloria had a small - 15 mm - tumor develop in her left breast that the mammogram a few months earlier had missed. That was
addressed with a three-surgery lumpectomy and radiation, but we knew that another unrelated cancer was reasonably possible. Given
this one had been missed, she bwas scheduled for a more aggressive screening protocol.
In 2024, we learned that the Fron choir, who we had become friends with, were planning a concert tour of Malta and we decided to join
them. It would be the last week of October 2025.
Art's cousin Kris would join in and we decided to surprise friend Jan - Art's "sis" - by paying her way.
But Gloria's July 31, 2025 mammogram looked a bit unusual and a biopsy found a cancer in her right breast. While it was presumed to
be not much of a problem, appearing to be only 2 mm in size, it turned out to be very thin, but had traveled extensively along the
ducts.
Plans changed!
