Hello Art,
My dad is driving now so I am reading and handling my emails. Convenient.
I just read and translated your message to everyone. So nice of you! My parents are so happy...
Well my father will be able to say (and he will...) that he is probably one of the only French non-English speaking
[people] who ever gave a speech in English in Kansas. He probably will remember this for [a] long [time.]
My mum laughed when I read the part about Gloria saying that you talk a lot. She said that if my dad was speaking English,
you would have found your match. 1000 ideas a second so forcibly ... a lot to say all the time.
My feeling is that you are a "puit de science". Remember this one because it's the best in French to describe you.
Really enjoyed talking and meeting with Gloria. Very sweet and nice person. Down to earth and very interesting. She can't
be bored with you.
My parents said that you did a wonderful job and were very impressed with the presentation.
We will look at the picture once we are back since he wants to make sure that he has all the names right.
By the way, we really enjoyed visiting Manhattan. Charming city and the tour was great!
I foresee a very interesting visit from you two in May in Feves.
Have fun in Wisconsin
Herve

Dear Herve,
I have frequently said that the worst part about traveling is you often meet nice people and then you have to say, "Good
bye!" Well, we didn't do any traveling in this case, but your coming and then leaving is pretty much the same thing.
I frequently awaken once a night and I enjoy using that time before going to sleep again to think about almost anything.
Last night, I was thinking about the whole day, but mainly about you and your family. I can wrap it all up by repeating
what Gloria said when we headed out to the car last night .... What nice people!
But on the way home, she also said, "Don't you ever get tired of talking." It wasn't a criticism ... I don't think ... but
more a statement of wonderment. Of course, after 26 years, she knows that the answer is "No," I do not get tired ... and so
I have to say a bit more.
I was most concerned that Paul and Emma might be bored out of their minds and so was pleased when Emma told me when we were
alone last night that it had been a fun day!
But I must say beyond that, that they were great ... so much fun to have around and smart too. You can be proud of those
two! Heck, I'm not their parents and I was proud of them!
My recollection is that Christine was a bit quiet earlier in the day, but then we had the opportunity to chat more at
supper. She seems like a nice warm person. (Pretty too, but today it is sexist to say such things, so forget I said that!)
I must say that I was really amazed at the job your Dad did giving that speech. Humor is difficult to get right. So when
you are trying to be funny in a language you are not familiar with, well, it makes it all the harder. He did a WONDERFUL
job. Many people who have been or are in business ENJOY being in control of things and avoid situations that they cannot
control. I know VERY FEW business people who would risk what your Dad did yesterday. I am completely impressed!
Your Mom is VERY MUCH like our friend from Nuremberg whom we like A LOT.
Oh, I just thought of something: I have NO idea why I put these two together, but I did. When I mentioned the Italian
connection, it was NOT Perisot that was connected with, but the name Rosetti that I think were Italian.
Well, my friend, I hope you and your family have a good trip home and have a few more "adventures" - that are good ones -
on the way.
I meant to give you the sound file of "Prairie Noel." If I have the opportunity to reduce the size some, I will load it to
the web site and you can download it from there.
Safe journey!
