Mr. President,
I am particularly pleased to be able to express hereby the keen interest with which the Greek people were
acquainted with the aims and purposes of your organization.
We believe that the closer understanding among peoples which is carried out through affiliation of towns and
cities in the United States and foreign countries will be a cornerstone in the consolidation of peace and bring,
through the peoples, a closer understanding between governments.
The excellent way in which this high ideal is implemented is very much appreciated by us. I have brought with me
from Tucson, Arizona, where I attended the celebration of its affiliation to Trikkala, Greece, the deep feeling
that I have witnessed an event which will have an important bearing in the destinies of the world.
Yours sincerely,
