Adopted town focus of Morganville program

MORGANVILLE A few years after World War II ended, the town of Morganville wanted to make a contribution to the people of Europe. Their solution to adopt the French village of Feves and contribute food and money to its residents will be the focus of "Beyond Our Rim," a slide program showing how those two towns came together. The program will be shown at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Clay County Museum.

Sponsored by a Kansas Humanities Council grant, the program will tell the story of what brought the two towns together and how Morganville raised money for Feves before the French town faced the winter of 1948-49. The program will include a discussion led by history professors John Daly of Kansas State University and John Sweets of Kansas University.
