Hears Hometown Pageant

John Peterson of Kansas City writes of his surprise in hearing a broadcast about the pageant given here August 27. His letter in part is as follows:

I was quite pleasantly surprised one evening sometime ago while listening to the broadcast by W.H.B. here at Kansas City. It was the Mutual Newsreel which comes on at 8:15 p.m. I was not much interested in the program till I heard the announcer say Morganville, then I woke up, but as I had not paid much attention to what was going on and I did not know what he was talking about, I heard him say it was the smallest town in the United States to take on a proposition like this, then I heard another voice, apparently from France, thank Morganville for their wonderful work, then a voice from New York also expressing his thanks, by that time the program was over. - Mr. Peterson.
