Dear Mr. McKee;
I had a very pleasant surprise when our present Mayor Marvin Miller handed me your letter addressed to The Mayor of
Morganville, Kansas, along with the pictures.
There has [been] a lot thats happened the past 22 years and lots of our friends and neighbors who had a part in our Feves
Program when we raised money for the people of Feves, France have passed on to their final reward, some of whom are
Agnes Huff, the Editor; Ed Schwab; Elmer Henry; Lon Silver; Mrs. Wicklund; Mrs. Halverscn; Anton Peterson; Homer
Christenson and many others.
The Ed Utleys are living in California, where Ed is still [working for] TWA; Rev. Buckels is doing social work in
the Chicago Slums; The Orvil Youngs are living in Wellington, Kansas; George Johnson is living in Denver and is
working for the Police Dept on their Comm. system; August [Kolling] is on a trip around the world at this moment
and stopped over in India for three weeks to visit his daughter and husband who is working with the Indian Govt. in
Agricultural Aid. Arvid Jacobson, the local Artist, is still teaching Art at Kansas University at Lawrence; it was
the harvest scene that we sent to the town of Feves. Velma is still living here in Morganville and is still the
same old Velma.
We have been talking about having an anniversary celebration show of our Feves Marriage and show our slides,
pictures, tape recordings and the large platter record that the New York Office sent back to us for our keeping.
The Nelsons are still in the chicken business; Will Taddiken is still active in the electric shop; the Oetingars
have sold their store and meat processing place and are both retired. The Schooley store is now an antique shop
and I am still in the insurance game and dont intending retiring as long as I have good health. We now have six
grandsons but no granddaughters. We have your book which you so abley wrote of our Morganville-Feves Project. When
and if we have our anniversary show, we will send you a special invitation ahead of time, so you can arrange to be
back with us once again. In the meantime, good luck and it was nice hearing from you after this space of time.
Sincerely
(Signature) Daniel J. Roenigk
