Dear Mr. Mayor:

Back in 1951, I worked with Velma Carson, also NBC and the 20th Century Fund, in producing a People Act radio program about the affiliation of Morganville with Feves in France. It was an inspiring experience. We also put the Morganville story into a book I wrote, which was subsequently translated many times abroad by USIA. As late as 1969, a Ladder edition reader (1000 word. vocabulary level) of this book was brought out in English for beginners in English as a second language.

I had thought the photos were sent back to you soon after the programs under separate cover were sent back to you, soon after the programs were over, but I find the boxes followed me around during many changes. I felt, even at this late date, they should be returned to your archives.

If Velma is still in Morganville, please remember me kindly to her. I enjoyed greatly my two visits to your community.
