The Ambassadors Report Home

Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Utley, who acted as ambassadors of good will from Morganville to our adopted town of Feves, France, acted as ambassadors from Feves to Morganville, Friday evening at the schoolhouse when they showed pictures of Feves and Mr. Utley spoke and explained the pictures. Velma Carson announced the program.

A group of five students from the class which studied French this winter sang Sur Le Pont, with Mrs. Orville Young as accompanist. D. J. Roenigk, Mayor, formally accepted for Morganville the base relief wood curving presented by Feves to Morganville. It will be hung in the school house.

Mr. Utley showed us where The Kansas Harvest" was hung in the Feves school house. This picture, the work of Prof. Arvid Jacobson of the art department at K. U. and a former Morganville boy, was sent as a gift to Feves. It was chosen last Thanksgiving time by popular vote. Also, a tape recording of the Feves to Morganville broadcast about a year ago was played.

Representatives from K.S.A C. radio station were present to assist with the recording.

Mr. and Mrs. Utley were welcomed back to Morganville. They have spent about three years abroad. They are on a three months vacation and will locate in Kansas City, Missouri.

Home-made ice cream, cake and coffee were served by a committee from the W. S. C. S [Women's Society of Christian Service]
