Dear Friends,

After a well-deserved day of rest, I would like to give you a recap of the events that we organized in Morganville's honor. The celebrations were a success. The school district superintendent could not believe that we could organize such a show with children that young. The population, however, was sincerely sorry that Mr. and Mrs. Utley were not present.

The school district superintendent was so surprised that he mentioned during the "cocktail ceremony " that he should have invited the American Consul and the media! Can you imagine that the kids could have been filmed.

Before the festivities we paid our respects to the Morganville and Feves's deceased. The prefect laid a wreath at the monument to the dead. Then the VIP guests, the people from Feves as well as many people from the region went in a musical procession to Mr. Arnould's building. I wont mention the speeches and the little shows since Morganville will listen to the radio broadcast [recordings.]

I would like to emphasize that the entire population was present. The oldest who could barely walk insisted to attend. Not one full family did not assist and even the men working in the factories took off that day.

Mrs. Utley, you mentioned during your visit that I was a talented speaker, but here I have to say, without bragging, that I was at my best for our Morganville's friends. The entire population was about to cry and if you had been here, you would have needed 2 handkerchiefs.

I want to finish this letter which I do not consider as written in a correct [formal] style, but I let my enthusiasm take over and this conversation is made with your memory, which remains imperishable in Feves.

I will write soon to Mrs. Bazin; I would be grateful if you could pass on our friendship.

Yours Truly

HT and Mrs
