Dear Mr. Todd:

Under date of 8 April, we have a letter from Miss L. H. Gallois, of Netherlands Volksherstel, 146 Stadhouderslaan, The Hague, Holland, saying that she and Miss Tjeenk Willink, director of Volksherstel and Member of Parliament, will be glad to see to it that visiting firemen, such as Bert Hedges, may have accommodations in visiting adopted communities in Holland. Miss Gallois explains that it is becoming increasingly difficult to obtain cars for the purpose, but still she thinks it can be done. All she asks is an advance letter of introduction so that she will be informed fully of the situation and personnel involved.

While Miss Gallols suggestion undoubtedly is based upon some Dutch rivalries in the social service field, we cannot overlook the advantage of thus working with a Member of Parliament and, as Miss Gallois suggests, with others interested. Also, there should be some advantage to persons like Mr. Hedges in being escorted about Holland by a tall, willowy blonde.

Our suggestion is that you now correspond with Miss Gallois in this regard, anticipating, so far as possible, the occasions upon which she will be called to exercise her not inconsiderable charm.

Very truly yours,
