Organize UNESCO Council

About 20 from Morganville attended the county organization meeting of the UNESCO at the Clay Center high school building, Friday evening. This group included delegates from the church and other organizations and a few others interested in the UNESCO. About 75 were present.

Dr. Robert Walker, chairman of the Kansas Commission for UNESCO, was the speaker and explained the aims and purposes of the organization. Miss Georgia Hemphill and Ernest Larson were co-chairmen of the meeting.

James Walter of Morganville was elected president of the newly formed county council, and Loren Barker, vice-president. Miss Georgia Hemphill secretary-treasurer, and Miss Edith McConnell, project chairman of Clay Center.
