THE ROENIGK AGENCY
Morganville, Kansas
Dear Mr. Roenigk:
I have received your letter of March 21 and I wish to thank you personally for your kind interest in my country. I am sure
that the residents of Feves are most grateful for your generous help.
There is no restriction on sending money to France. You may make a deposit for the amount you wish to send in dollars at
the foreign department of a bank in your town. The corresponding amount in French francs will then be paid to the mayor
of the city of Feves, in France. You may secure detailed information at your bank.
As to the oil painting you sent to the town of Feves, and which is detained at the Customs Bureau of the Orly airport, I
am sending a copy of your letter to M. J. J. VIALA, Consul General of France in Chicago (919 N. Michigan Avenue),
recommending that the necessary arrangements be made with the French authorities so your gift may be forwarded without
charges.
I sincerely hope that this matter will be settled to the satisfaction of both parties and if I can be of further service
to you at any time, please do not hesitate to let me know.
Very truly yours,
(signature)
