Dear Mr. Roenigk:
Your letter of February 2, addressed to the French Consulate in Denver, has been referred to this office for reply.
First of all, I wish to take this occasion to express my personal thanks for your generous assistance accorded to
the French village of Feves.
In reply to your request, I should suggest that you ask your correspondent directly which kind of seeds would be
preferable for their type of ground. It is indeed a very difficult problem since each region has its own kind of
crops and they would be in the best position to tell you just what they need.
There is no restriction or special regulation for shipments of plants or seeds to France, as long as the shipment
is sent as a gift. I assume that you already know the CARE organization which sends a package of assorted seeds at
a very good price.
I have been informed by Air France that their air freight is quoted at $1.09 per pound and only a $5 minimum
shipment is accepted. Air Parcel Post are quoted $1.22 for first 4 ounces and 44 each additional 4 ounces
(service started to France March 1). This rate is representative of the rates of all airlines.
I hope this information will be of help to you and if my services might be of further assistance, please do not
hesitate to call upon us at any time.
Very truly yours,
(Signature)
