Dear Daniel,

It seemed easier to send the check for $100 - to my bank than to fool with money orders - as the bills were sent to me. I have written checks as follows:

R. C. Williams
June Daily Products
Sells Specialties, Inc.
Fruitcrest

Credit

$59.85
$18.06
$12.40
$26.00
- - - - - -
$116.31
$ 16.65
- - - - - -
$ 99.66

So why dont you keep the credit for a future order and when I come home, you can reimburse me. I am taking the liberty of advancing a small package of Lifesavers for Billie Pierson.

Mr. Todd here says he hopes you will also send some seeds personally. That was a nice writeup.

Ive met all of the people here - French Aid headquarters looks like the City Hall before a box goes out. Its volunteer work. They are short of help and money like we are and it all takes longer than it ought to. They have to wait until they get a certain size shipment and space on a boat that will give them rates. Its all an effort to do something good in the world. None of it quite perfect.

I read with pride, the editorial about Feves from the highschool paper to a big New York meeting.

The town adoption program is growing in all directions.

Havent seen Ann yet - too busy here with Vera. Next week Ill be free-er.

Im tired of New York. Ill be glad to get home again. Keep up the good work.

As ever,

Velma
