The Noel Party

The Noel Party was a happy affair, with beautiful Christmas decorations for a setting, Friday night in the high school gym. Orb Pierson and his orchestra furnished music for the old-fashioned dance. A program arranged by Mrs. Orville Young was an enjoyable feature of the evening�s festivities. Ensign Ivan Roenigk was the announcer. A dance and song number by Rex Derusseau of Clyde with Mrs. Wilbur Taddiken as piano accompanist and Mrs. Ervin Taddiken playing the violin obligato; Paul Huddleston of Wakefield sang �Through the Years� as a tenor solo. Mrs. Fred Settles of Wakefield was his accompanist. A tap dance �That Certain Party� by 11-year-old Alvin Freeman of Wakefield with Paul Huddleston as accompanist; Miss Dorothy Ann Buckley of Clyde played a piano solo �Rhapsody in G Minor�; Rex Derusseau gave the concluding number on the program, a song and dance number �Kissin� in the Corn.� Mrs. Wilbur Taddiken was the piano accompanist and Mrs. Ervin Taddiken played the violin obligato.

After the program, the crowd danced the remainder of the evening. The women serving donuts and coffee were Mrs. Elmer Seitz, Mrs. Carl Nelson, Mrs. Earl Hawks, Mrs. Walter Hanson, Mrs. Earl Hahn, Mrs. Charles Anderson, and Mrs. Edwin Schwab, chairman, and Mrs. Stanley Carlson was in charge of the pop stand.

Tickets for the dance amounted to $119.50 and $6 was donated. The expenses were approximately $67.00. Ten dollars was cleared from the pop and lunch, leaving $68 clear to be used to carry on the work by the local Feves committee.
