May 7, 2013 - Added Robert Treiber's obituary and mentioned his passing on the main page. Coach Dick Emanuel's obituary was moved to This-n-That.


April 23, 2013 - Added Dick Emanuel's obituary and mentioned his passing on the main page. Earlier mention of Mary Kay Boyle's death was moved down the main page and linked to her obit.


April 19, 2013 - Added Mary Kay Temmer's obituary and removed her e-mail address from the CONTACTS page. The material about the Dave Wollwage polio photo was moved to the RANDOM IMAGES area.


February 19, 2013 - Removed Robert Woehler from the ranks of the missing and wrote an obituary based on information at hand.


January 28, 2013 - Updated the "Home" page to mention Dave Wollage's picture that appeared in the APC regarding the polio epidemic.

The "Reminisce" page was updated to remove Christmas references and to add the "Random Images" area.

The "Random Image" page was added and the WMPCo holiday sign item became its first resident.


January 14, 2013 - Restored the home page to its normal format and removed several of the older "news" items. Also explained a bit about the WMPCo holiday sign.

Changed the page on the book Larry Stephenson co-authored to reflect my having finished the book and removed references to the holidays.

Changed the heading in the "All about Appleton" page from "All about home" to the former.


December 22, 2012 - Modified home page to include colorized version of WMPCo holiday sign.


December 11, 2012 - Added information regarding Larry Stephenson and Adrian Martin's "Operation Plum" book and placed related material on the main page.


December 4, 2012 - "This-N-That" page updated to include the story about Terry Feavel's letters.


November 27, 2012 - Modified main page to include the "News" area below the main header box.


November 23, 2012 - Modified the CLASSMATES page to include the newly-created THIS-N-THAT page.

THIS-N-THAT page created to have a place for items about classmates neither dead nor missing or that might not fit well on either. The first item added was the communications with classmate Marc Chappe.


November 9, 2012 - Added Thomas Ryan to the ALL ABOUT HOME page.

November 3, 2012 - Added column link to REUNION page in anticipation of main page rework.


November 2, 2012 - Reworked REUNION area and moved tour picture to the REUNION area from the main page. Started a high school tour page.


November 1, 2012 - Corrected error of fact on ALL ABOUT TOM page relating to Union HS opening in 1905 and not 1904. REMINISCE subpages modified to remove main buttons below header and add return buttons at bottom of pages. This included adding return buttons on each ALL ABOUT TOM pages.


October 31, 2012 - Added Edna Ferber info to that of Gladys Tabor in the ALL ABOUT HOME area under the REMINISCE page.


October 30, 2012 - Launched the ALL ABOUT HOME area under the REMINISCE page.


October 27, 2012 - The HELP pages have been reworked. In addition to presenting information on initially opening the thumb drive, how to address two known problems for users with certain versions of Internet Explorer are addressed.


October 25, 2012 - CONTACTS page reworked to reveal e-mail addresses. In high-secure systems, the links are barred from activating the e-mail client, leaving a correspondent no obvious way to find the desired e-mail address.

Updated REMINISCE pages, readying for new materials.


October 23, 2012 - Thanks to researching by Jane Kupfer, obit added for Paul Rochon.


October 22, 2012 - Thanks to researching by Jane Kupfer, obits were added for Tom Corbett, Kathy Johnson, Richard Kiefer and James Luebke. Also corrected distorted headers on all obits.

October 20, 2012 - Edit the REUNION and PROGRAM pages to reflect the past nature of the event, add information about purchasing a DVD of the banquet and alert to future REUNION page changes.


October 18, 2012 - Add an obituary for George Siebers.

The WELCOME, CLASSMATES and CONTACTS pages were all updated to reflect the past nature of the reunion.


October 17, 2012 - On HELP page, added John Kading's suggested steps for users with an Apple MAC running the OS X operating system.


October 15, 2012 - On HELP page, added the CTRL - O key file option method required for some versions of Internet Explorer.


October 12, 2012 - Link to Gloria Freeland's column added to main page. The large version of the high school tour group with IDs replaced the one without names. Main page caption notes this fact and asks for IDing help.


October 11, 2012 - Add note to classmates about the future of the website as well as adding label for school tour pix.


October 10, 2012 - Remove John Kading from CONTACT list.


October 6, 2012 - Replaced the RESERVATION option button with a HELP button that gives access to instructions on how to activate the thumb drive distributed at the reunion. Plan to expand to address Internet Explorer problems.


September 29, 2012 - Added picture of group who toured the high school.


August 16, 2012 - Added a warning about the bar accepting only cash - no credit cards - at the Saturday night affair. Corrected reference to Paul Herzfeldt being on the Talisman staff to indicating he was a Clarion worker.


August 13, 2012 - Added the June 5, 1962 Talisman to the Reminisce area and removed Mike Lee from the ranks of the Missing.


June 23, 2012 - Removed Nancy Sparpana and added Glenda Baerwald to the MISSING page.


May 23, 2012 - Removed Jerry Bentle, Chandler Rowe and Donald Yahr and added Mike Lee to the MISSING page.


May 17, 2012 - Added 11 pages in the REMINISCE section about changes in athletics in particular, but including changes in AHS-West in general since we left, including both a historical perspective and a discussion of the "Mason Street controversy."


May 15, 2012 - Added alert on HOME page and warning on the REUNION page related to hotel/motel space being limited due to it being a home-game Sunday for the Packers.

Wording changes on the latter were made to reflect notices have long since been mailed.


May 9, 2012 - Several small changes have been made over the past few days, but not documented on the date, hoping to wrap them up in a single post. But now enough time has passed that some have been forgotten. There is a lesson here!

Added an obituary for Gene Quimby, while REMOVING Robert Woehler from the IN MEMORIAM page. Try as we might, we have been unable to either confirm or refute reports of Robert's death.

All "found" folks have been removed from the MISSING page. However, we discovered a greater number who we were not aware were missing, so the list has actually grown! Most of these were folks who changed schools, left before graduation or by some other change in situation, did not catch our attention earlier as being part of our class.


April 26, 2012 - Changed the introductory paragraphs on the IN MEMORIAM page to reflect the addition of classmates whose death had been recently discovered.

The CAN YOU HELP - SHARING MEMORIES page was added to explain why we would like input from any member of the Class of '62 who would be willing to share some memories. Two subpages were also added. One answered frequently asked questions regarding submissions, while the other had a list of suggested topics.


February 27, 2012 - Removed Marvin Buelow, William Fulcer, Jack Losse and Dennis Werner from the MISSING list. Update IN MEMORIAM page to reflect current number confirmed and probably deceased.

February 25, 2012 - Removed Joanne Beschta, Lynn Choudoir, Patricia McCarthy, Anthony Mignon, Kathryn Newstrom, Kathy Syring and Michael Wichman from the MISSING list. Change the IN MEMORIAM page format to display 5 photos wide rather than 3 to reduce the need to scroll.

February 19, 2012 - Corrected ALL ABOUT ME Part V to reflect that Harbor House has replaced Peabody Manor.

Corrected ALL ABOUT ME Part VI to reflect Morgan graduated from Herkules/Hercules High School in 1881 and she became superintendent in 1893.


February 13, 2012 - Obituary picture added for Terry Feavel and Paul Rickert. Obituary added for Paul Rickert.


February 12, 2012 - The LOST CLASSMATES page was updated. While a few people were moved into the "found" category, more "losts" were added. This was a consequence of having postcards returned from the January mailing. In other words, some of the addresses thought to be valid proved not to be.


February 3, 2012 - Added REMINISCE Mission page and adjusted REMINISCE Home page to (A) enable Tom the Terror's "All about me," (B) maintain a link to the iconic photos test and (C) add a link to the mission page.

Tom the Terror's pages loaded to explain his origin, school colors and why the Class of '62 was only the 58th class to graduate from AHS.


January 29, 2012 - Obituary for Jack Wendt added. Jim Recker removed from "lost" list."


January 27, 2012 - Obituary and listing on IN MEMORIAM page added for classmate Roger Larsen.

Figlinski, Hay, Kreiner, Massey, Newstrom, Robinson and Sheehy removed from the ranks of the "lost."


January 26, 2012 - Obituary for classmate Peter Damm added.


January 24, 2012 - Obituary for classmate Phillip Kisslinger added. Art Vaughan added to contact list.


January 21, 2012 - Classmates Pharis Brooks, Lynn Gmeiner, Phil Kissinger, Robert Kositzke, Dawn Mussett, and Mark Quehl were removed from the ranks of the missing. Sadly, Phill Kissinger was added to the list of those who had passed on. A preliminary obituary was added for Phill.


January 18, 2012 - REMINISCE page's "Under Construction" removed. The "iconic images" test was added as the first item in this area.


January 15, 2012 - Obituary added for Denis Nelson. Short obituary for Judy Schroeder removed as it was incorrect. Format of all obituaries updated.

Additional information added to reunion PROGRAM page about Friday evening activities available as part of Octoberfest.


January 14, 2012 - The CLASSMATES page and the related IN MEMORIAM and MISSING pages were updated to the new format. Content was largely unchanged.


January 13, 2012 - The CONTACTS page was split into two pages with the introduction on the first and the contact list on the second. The intro page also contains two maps and an image on how to reach the Atlas Mill restaurant.

Background color on the PROGRAM page was shifted from pale yellow to pale orange.


January 12, 2012 - The WELCOME page was converted into three pages and some images were added. The color version of Tom the Terror was introduced. The format was updated.

The REUNION page was split into two pages. The first serves as an introduction to the second with the latter containing only the details of the reunion activities. The content sum of the two new pages is largely the same as the older single page.

The RESERVATIONS page was upgraded in format, but the content is essentially the same.

The January 9 entry on the NEW page was modified to indicate why changes were being made. In addition, the NEW page's header was changed to "What's New" from "Welcome" to avoid confusion with the WELCOME pages.


January 9, 2012 - The HOME page format was updated and the NEW page added. This is the first of a complete makeover of the site. Yes, the school colors are orange and blue, but it is possible to have too much of a good thing.
